Winter & Playgrounds
We have loved Winter in Munich. We've been able to enjoy the snow and do lots of sledding. However, enough is enough. Please arrive soon, Spring!
Here are a few shots from the past two weeks. We had a few warmer days where the sun came out but now we're back to snow and negative temperatures (in degree C, I'm becoming a European). And just as a side note, Munich (maybe Germany in general?) has some awesome playgrounds. Calvin is becoming quite the daredevil.

Awesome slides in West Park
Isaac walking back from dropping off Cal at kindergarten. We walk through Theresienwiese (the Oktoberfest grounds) every day, next to the Statue of Bavaria.
Sunny but chilly day at a different playground
Two boys swinging
Isaac screamed when I took him off the swings so others could have a turn
More swinging
"Mommy, I'm all the way at the top!"

Kindergarten!
Today my life changed. My big boy is now going to kindergarten! And it's a bilingual one which makes it easy for me to actually communicate with the teachers. Calvin was so excited leading up to the big day but I was nervous about how it would actually go down. Turns out, I had no need to fear...Cal had no trouble saying "Bye Mommy!" and off he went. At the moment, we're only going half days so when I picked him up after lunch, he was excited to see me but not in a get-me-out-of-here kind of way. The teachers also said he did well. I think he will love kindergarten even more when St. Nicholas comes for a visit on Thursday.
So what did I do with my 4 hours off? Isaac and I got some groceries, did the laundry, washed the dishes, and took a nap (well, Isaac did...I read a book)! I've never felt so productive! It wasn't the best day for walking to and from the kindergarten but we managed alright in the snow.

oktoberfest
How to describe Oktoberfest... picture the MN state fair with slightly more people, a bit less acreage, and a beer theme. Add some drunk people ringing our doorbell at 1:30 in the new day and a crew of workers sleeping in their car across the street for two weeks. Magical, isn't it? It's probably easier to be excited about it if you don't live so close to the grounds. We went a few times and went on rides with the kids- here are some pictures.
